What to Watch on Philo this Weekend: October 1st, 2021-October 3rd, 2021

Do you feel it? A chill in the air; shivers are running down your spine. Well, October is finally here and Halloween frights are lurking around every corner. If you’re in the mood for a little scare, tune into Philo this month for some classic horror, giant jack-o-lanterns, and hordes of zombies. And, if you’re not in the Halloween spirit, we’ve also added a couple of picks for anyone who’s avoiding all of the spooky season festivities. Here’s our round-up of what to watch this weekend:

Friday, October 1st, 2021

AMC is launching Spooktober with Fearfest, their annual horror movie marathon event and a host of classics and fan favorites. Tune in to movies like Final Destination, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Friday The 13th, and so much more all month long!

Take a deep dive into all things horror with Eli Roth’s History of Horror, returning to AMC Friday, October 1st at 10/9c. Join Eli and other masters of horror as they explore the genre’s biggest themes, how it has evolved through the years, and its impact on society.

BBC America’s The Graham Norton Show is kicking off with a bang! On Friday, October 1st, stars of the long-awaited James Bond film visit the set to talk about their new movie No Time to Die while superstar Ed Sheeran makes a musical appearance to perform his new single ‘Shivers’.

Saturday, October 2nd, 2021

Second time’s the charm in the Hallmark Channel original movie Love Strikes Twice. Maggie, a woman stuck in an estranged relationship, is magically transported back 15 years in the past. Will she decide to marry the same man all over again or forge a different path? Catch the premiere Saturday, October 2nd at 9/8c.

The Good Father tells the story of a devoted father, husband, and Utah doctor, Martin MacNeil, whose sinister nature comes to light as his picture-perfect persona is shattered in the wake of his wife’s mysterious murder. Tune in to the Lifetime movie on Saturday, October 2md at

Sunday, October 3rd, 2021

Knives out! How I Met Your Mother’s Alyson Hannigan will host the third season of Food Network’s Outrageous Pumpkins airing Sunday, October 3rd at 10/9c. Seven expert pumpkin carvers will go head to head as they create out-of-this-world jack o’lantern etches for the chance to win the title of Outrageous Pumpkins Champion and a sweet $25,000 treat. It’s going to be ghoulishly good!

The Walking Dead Universe’s latest mythology, The Walking Dead: The World Beyond, premieres Sunday, October 3rd at 10/9c. The second season follows a group of tweens, coming of age in a post-apocalyptic world, who embark on a risky cross-country journey to save their father while battling zombies along the way.
