Holiday Movies to Watch on Philo This Thanksgiving Weekend!

The holidays are here! Thanksgiving has arrived and many of you might be gathering with your families for the first time in two years. But whether you’re home alone this year or sharing your childhood bedroom with your siblings and cousins again, Philo has you covered! We’ve got all the entertainment you need to get into the holiday spirit, from Hallmark Channel’s original movies to new favorites from GAC Family. And for those of you who aren’t ready for Christmas just yet, or are looking to avoid in-person family drama, by watching a more dysfunctional family than your own, you can catch up on all four seasons of the Duttons on Philo during the 4-day Yellowstone marathon.

Thursday, November 25

Nine Kittens of Christmas

Starring: Brandon Routh, Kimberley Sustad, Gregory Harrison

Hallmark Channel, 8pm ET

The Plot: Cat lovers Zachary and Marilee are thrown back together at Christmas when they’re tasked with finding homes for a litter of adorable kittens.

Yellowstone (Marathon Seasons 1-4)

Starring: Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley

Paramount Network, 9am PT/ 12pm ET (Catch up on Seasons 1-4 running in order from Thursday-Sunday)

The Plot: Airing since June 2018, is headlined by Oscar and Emmy winner Kevin Costner as the patriarch of a powerful, complicated family of ranchers. A sixth-generation homesteader and devoted father, Costner’s John Dutton controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. Dutton’s property is in constant conflict with those it borders — an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.

Friday, November 26

Angel Falls Christmas

Starring Jessica Lowndes, Chad Michael Murray

GAC Family, 8pm ET

The Plot: Ally Morgan (Lowndes) is a workaholic ER doctor struggling for work-life balance with boyfriend Josh (David Reale). On the night Josh is set to propose, he and Ally have a row about her working an extra shift on Christmas Eve, which leads to a breakup. Ally is miserable alone before a chance encounter with handsome barista Gabe (Murray) leads her to fulfill a Christmas bucket list of fun activities she never would have done on her own. Ally’s best friend and fellow ER doctor Dawn (Samora Smallwood) has never seen Ally so engaged outside of work and is rooting for a Gabe-Ally relationship. Now the saintly Maureen (Jane Luk) must redirect Gabe’s heartfelt intentions if Josh and Ally have any chance at reconciliation this Christmas.

An Unexpected Christmas

Starring: Bethany Joy Lenz, Tyler Hynes

The Plot: A writer convinces his ex-girlfriend to pose as a couple for Christmas.

Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune

Starring: Reba McEntire, John Schneider, Candice King, Justin David

Lifetime, 8pm ET

The Plot: Years after their personal and professional breakup, the singing duo of Georgia (McEntire) and Joe Winter (Schneider) agree to reunite after their daughter, Belle (King), asks them to participate in a Christmas charity concert, only to find themselves getting back in tune on stage and off.

Christmas CEO

Starring: Marisol Nichols, Paul Greene

Hallmark Channel, 6pm ET

The plot: A small toy company CEO gets a once-in-a-lifetime offer to merge with a mega toy company but will need her estranged ex-business partner’s signature to seal the deal. What he helps her rediscover will change both of their lives.

Saturday, November 27

Christmas at Castle Hart

Starring: Lacey Chabert, Stuart Townsend

Hallmark Channel, 8pm ET

The plot: Brooke Bennett goes to Ireland for Christmas to search for her Irish roots. While there, she meets Aiden Hart, Earl of Glaslough. Mistaken for an elite event planner, she’s hired to host his castle’s epic Christmas party.

Merry Liddle Christmas Baby

Lifetime, 8pm ET

Starring: Kelly Rowland, Thomas Cadrot, Bresha Webb,
Latonya Williams, Jaime M. Callica, Nathan Witte

The plot: This holiday, the Liddles have much to be merry about! Jacquie Liddle (Rowland) and her husband Tyler (Cadrot) are preparing for the arrival of their first baby. Meanwhile, Jacquie’s sister Treena (Williams) and her husband Julian (Callica) are thinking about adopting a baby themselves, and spirited fashionista sister Kiera’s (Webb) relationship with Chris (Witte) is heating up. With their family expanding in ways they could never have expected, the Liddles are headed for a crazy Christmas filled with merry mayhem and lots of love and laughter.

Royally Wrapped for Christmas

Starring: Jen Lilley, Brendan Fehr

The plot: Lindsay Peterson (Lilley) of Brooklyn, N.Y., heads up one of the most successful chapters of the Festive Heart Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to underserved children, which will celebrate its centennial this holiday. Founded by the royal family of Veronia, Lindsay is summoned to the kingdom as one of the world’s three most successful foundation organizers to plan the gala’s 100th year. Before she embarks to Veronia, Lindsay meets the charity’s president, Willard, and a pleasant man, Aidan (Fehr) who Lindsay mistakenly believes is the organization’s accountant. Willard persuades Lindsay to join him and two other organizers from the global charity in Veronia. It is there Lindsay discovers the accountant is really Prince Aidan, who is to ascend the throne after his mother, Queen Rayna. Committed to the mission to imagine the next 100 years of the charity, Lindsay leans into a tradition she learned from her grandmother: each Christmas, two gifts must be given. One to keep, one to give. Veronia’s parliament enthusiastically accepts Lindsay’s idea for the charity, vowing to change the world in the kindest way. Now Prince Aidan must decide if the commoner from New York who has helped so many may have just stolen his heart.

The plot: The son and daughter of rival holiday decorating families help mend their fathers’ decades-old feud, finding romance along the way as they compete in the town’s holiday decorating contest.

Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas

Starring: Jessy Schram, Brendan Penny

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, 10pm ET

The plot: During the holidays, a woman with amnesia catches a ride with her handsome nurse to investigate the only clue to her identity: a newspaper clipping for a Christmas festival with a cryptic invitation.

Sunday, November 28

The Christmas Contest

Starring: Candace Cameron Bure, John Brotherton, Barbara Niven

Hallmark Channel, 8pm ET

The plot: Exes Lara and Ben compete in a Christmas contest to win money for the charity of their choosing. The city watches them battle and choose what is more important, victory or love.

Miracle in Motor City

Starring: Tia Mowry, Mark Taylor, Smokey Robinson

Lifetime, 8pm ET

The plot: Amber Dupont (Mowry) bites off more than she can chew when she takes charge of her church’s annual Christmas pageant and inadvertently promises to deliver a special performance by Motown legend Smokey Robinson. When her best friends secretly enlist Amber’s former flame Eddie (Taylor) to help, the pair reconnect in a quest to find Smokey and convince him to appear. With the clock ticking, family, friends, and superstar Smokey Robinson come together to stage the most special pageant yet.

Christmas in Tahoe

Starring: Laura Osnes, Kyle Selig, Pat Monahan, George Lopez

Hallmark Channel, 6pm ET

The plot: To save her family hotel’s Christmas show, talent booker Claire must ask for help from her ex-boyfriend Ryan, the lead guitarist of a now-famous band that fired her as their manager years ago.

Christmas is You

Starring: Becca Tobin, Matthew MacCaull

GAC Family, 8pm ET

The Plot: Emma Bloom is given an ultimatum by her boss Rachel at Old Town Records: Go home for the holidays and convince former boyfriend and national recording star Tyler Thorn to sign with Rachel’s label or find another job. Emma is an organized assistant, though her job is a dead end in search of a turnaround since Emma’s real dream is to be a singer. Tyler is going home for Christmas for the first time in years as he abruptly quits his label after years of being forced to perform uninspiring material. First, Emma and Tyler have a friendship to repair: Emma broke Tyler’s heart on Christmas Eve some years back when she turned down his marriage proposal. When Emma and Tyler arrive in their hometown, they are immediately immersed in an all-hands-on-deck effort to save the annual Christmas Carol Celebration where they first sang together as kids in the choir. Turns out, a trip down memory lane may hit all the right notes for Emma and Tyler.
