Philo’s End of the Year Streaming Recap 2022

A map of the U.S. shows which titles were the most popular in that state via Philo in 2022.

Well, another year is in the books! And what a TV year it was. The Walking Dead walked into the sunset, and Saul of Better Call Saul got his curtain call. Yellowstone defended its turf as the top show while Love & Hip Hop stayed on beat, and in viewer’s hearts. From The Fresh Prince to the Golden Girls (and every Martin in between), the classic hits kept their place in the TV hall of fame.

So as the page turns on 2022, we’d like to take a moment to thank you, our Philo community, for your support and loyal viewership. Whether you’re a Sistas stan, a fanatic for 90 Day Fiancé, gaga for Gunsmoke, or ridiculously into Ridiculousness, we aim to have something for everyone. Which got us and our data science team a little curious…

What shows were our subscribers watching all year long? We know the heavy hitters week in and week out. We know everybody loves that porous dude, SpongeBob Squarepants. And we’ve told you for months just how expansive that Yellowstone ranch really is. But we wanted to take a deeper look beyond the yellow fellow, and Yellowstone, and see what content really resonated this year.

Without further ado, we have the answers. The map above illustrates the most uniquely popular show in every state! And we didn’t stop there. We set out to answer many questions: What show popped with its premiere? Which Philo “phlick” was the most watched? And, which throwback had you throwing one back.

We hope you enjoy these fun facts and have a happy and healthy end of the year! Wishing you all the best from your friends at Philo.

Yellowstone was the most popular new show on Philo this year. Yee Haw!
