When it comes to midseason cliffhangers, Yellowstone really killed it. Or, ahem, took us to the train station.
For those of you who have been following along with the Dutton family’s adventures, you know that the fifth installment of Yellowstone has been full of twists and turns and drew record ratings with its premiere. John Dutton’s tumultuous stint in politics trudged along. His balancing act between being the Governor of Montana and the patriarch of the Yellowstone Ranch faced criticism and left the family vulnerable as they tried to find a profitable plan for the ranch. How long will his reign as Montana’s chief executive last? Will his ranch go bankrupt? We’ll have to wait and see.
Another subplot that had us on the edge of our seats was the complicated sibling rivalry between Beth and Jamie. These two have a long and complicated history, spelled out over the seasons. And now, episode 8 left us wondering if there is any way forward that doesn’t include violence. No spoilers, but (belt) buckle up!
And these are just a few of the juicy storylines coming back later this year.
The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to find out. It’s been confirmed that Yellowstone is coming back for more episodes in the summertime, and we can’t wait to see what happens next on the ranch. Will the Duttons be able to hold onto their land, or will their enemies finally succeed in taking it from them? How will the Duttons’ political power dynamics shake out? We’ll find out this summer.
