Let me get right to it. We had a significant disruption in our service last night from around 8pm – 9:15pm ET coinciding with the premiere of Yellowstone Season 5. Everyone at Philo feels truly terrible about letting our subscribers down in such a big way, and we’re deeply sorry. We created Philo because we wanted to make a TV service people loved, and failing at that last night for so many was painful for all of us.

For fans of Yellowstone and The Walking Dead who were eagerly anticipating new episodes last night but couldn’t watch them in real time without interruption, or any of our subscribers just looking to relax and enjoy their favorite shows, we let you down and we understand your frustration with us. Despite months of planning for what we understood would be a huge night of viewership, we’re disappointed that we were unable to fully predict all the different stress points our systems would be under at scale and make sure we could handle that additional load. We love TV — especially the excitement that comes from watching live. Gathering with others — friends, family, fellow fans; together in person or in spirit — for the return of a series you’ve been waiting to watch for months (or even days) should be a celebration. It’s why we wake up each day so passionate about what we do at Philo. We were right there with you all last night, until we fell short.

If you are still hoping to watch the new episodes of Yellowstone and The Walking Dead from last night, they are available to watch on demand now. Additionally, we will be reaching out over email in the coming days with either a discount code or extended free trial for subscribers that bill directly with Philo or through Roku. __So what’s all the hype about Yellowstone anyway?__

Yellowstone, airing since June 2018, is headlined by Oscar and Emmy winner Kevin Costner as the patriarch of a powerful, complicated family of ranchers. A sixth-generation homesteader and devoted father, Costner’s John Dutton controls the largest ranch in the United States. Dutton's property is in constant conflict with those it borders -- an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America's first national park. Yellowstone also features actors Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, and Wes Bentley, in main roles. Not only is Yellowstone a fantastic watch – full of beautiful cinematography – but it also has heart-pumping, suspenseful scenes and characters with depth, humor, and grit.

__What’s the best way to watch Yellowstone on Philo?__

Well if you’re not big on commercials or you want to be able to watch when you want, then using Philo’s free, unlimited DVR is the way to go. On the Yellowstone show profile page, hit save (+) and the new and upcoming past episodes of Yellowstone will be recorded to your 1-Year Unlimited DVR so you hit the the fast-forward button during commercial breaks. 

__How do I watch past seasons of Yellowstone?__

[According to Outsider](https://outsider.com/entertainment/tv/yellowstone/how-to-watch-yellowstone-season-5-when-where-view-yellowstone-cable-streaming/), Peacock has past seasons 1-4 available on-demand. However, they won’t have Season 5 or new episodes until the full season has been released on cable. Fans with Peacock subscriptions will likely have to wait weeks or months to stream Season 5. At this time, the release date for Yellowstone on Peacock has not been confirmed.

However, if you have a Philo subscription, season 4 is already available on-demand. Just remember to hit save (+) on the [Yellowstone show profile](http://philo.com/yellowstone). When marathons take place, before and throughout the season, the newly aired episodes will save to your DVR and you’ll automatically have past seasons to watch on your 1-year DVR. 

__What about the other shows in the Yellowstone universe?__

It’s been announced that the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off 6666 will be airing on Paramount Network sometime next year. That means you can watch 6666 on Philo when it does air. 

For the prequel series 1883, and the upcoming series 1923, you'll have to head to Paramount’s Paramount+ service.

__What about other things to watch from Taylor Sheridan?__

Right now you can watch Taylor Sheridan’s cowboy reality series, [The Last Cowboy](https://philo.com/l/zqV9t/RW5HKFSF) from CMT.  Philo currently has season 2 and will be airing season 3 starting next week. The Last Cowboy chronicles the lives of eight men and women who compete in the high-stakes sport of horse reining, culminating in a record-setting million-dollar competition.
